Review :

Marilyn Monroe (MM) is one of the most famous, most celebrated actress of all time. A legend in herself. Her untimely death in 1962 is one of the most famous mystery that has never been investigated.

The book sheds a light on the life of the protagonist and tries to demystify the truth behind the death of the most celebrated Hollywood star. The book is presented in two parts.

PART ONE deals with the suicide of Marilyn Monroe. Trying to demystify how the famous star died, it does bring about shocking facts that definitely incline her death towards homicide. A well planned, well manipulated homicide. Many mysteries like postmortem report showing absence of undigested pills in stomach which were termed as cause of death, loss of important documents related which converted the plausible 700+ page report to 54 page report, the untimely death and transfers of the DAs who tried to set up official investigation of Marilyn’s death, the false stories presented by the key witnesses to the media, involvement of the Kennedy brothers, Mafia, yet remain unanswered. Probably hidden from the eyes of the public.

PART TWO deals with her journey from her childhood and tracking it till her death. Extensive interview sessions with key people of MMs life brings a humongous, star studded, alluring personality to life. The book is rather written in an empathetic tone towards the star(almost justifying few acts at times instead of stating facts) and does brings forth a mind that firmly believes that aberrations were created out of sheer political power. It does bring light to life of an actress, who as the book progresses you tend to fall in love with.

There are many instances that makes one wonder what happened with her and find the truth by self. Was it suicide or homicide? Were the Kennedys, Mafia or Communist involved in her death? What were the contents of MM’s “book of secret”? Was she gonna bring down the Kennedy brother before her untimely death?

Summarizing, it’s a book of an orphan who became the most wanted woman in the world. A woman surrounded by the Kennedy brother, FBI informants on one hand and Communist spy on other. A woman who was patient of chronic suicidal depression and considered herself as sex object but also would present a flair, charisma that would attract every eye. There is a suicide case which evidently looks like homicide and suspiciously enough is also a case that has never been brought to court of law. There is Mafia, Communist, Hollywood glitz and glam, affairs, a flirtatious woman who also wanted to lead a simple life, be a good wife and raise children but had to wear the mask of Marilyn Monroe which still mesmerizes people. A woman whose death remains a mystery, yet to be revealed.

A definite read of mystery, fiction and also biography lovers.
